The Children of High Intellectual Potential (CHIP) Foundation was established in 1987 to encourage the development and education of children of high intellectual potential and to support their needs and those of their parents and teachers.

It is the oldest independent Victorian advisory service specializing in the needs of CHIP and their families

Our mission statement:

  • To provide a quality service and support system to serve the needs of children of high intellectual potential, their families and their teachers;
  • To work to place the educational needs of these children high on the political and bureaucratic agenda in Victoria;
  • To raise the level of community awareness of these children and their families.

In almost 25 years, the Foundation has worked with over 2500 CHIP families.

We receive no government funding.

We do not have premises nor do we offer programs. We do not sell courses.  We have prepared a range of e-guides for purchase in which we offer advice and expertise in the area of parenting and working with Children of High Intellectual Potential.

Our Board Members have expertise in Education, Psychology and as parents of highly able children. We knew that there was very little good quality information available in Australia.  We have written the material you will find on this website primarily for adults working with children of high intellectual potential; whether you are parents and teachers.

Whilst much of the material is free we have extensive material which will be available for purchase.
